Cost of Energy

As a “solar producer” with Xcel, we have two meters.

The production meter measures the energy produced by our solar panels and used in our home. The net meter measures electricity that flows from the grid into our home, and the electricity that flows from our solar panels onto the grid.

The following table shows the amounts for each statement for the past year. Every month we pay Xcel the amount on the net meter statement, and we receive a check from Xcel for the amount on the production meter statement.
