4311 Blaisdell Ave: Q&A with the Sellers
- What compelled you to buy THIS land?
I fell in love with feel when we entered the home, the stunning woodwork with it’s rich red hues, and details. I loved the staircase and oval window. We also really appreciated the large 2 car garage with the attached workshop/storage area, perfect for our active lifestyle and raising kids (burley’s, strollers, tag alongs, sleds, etc). 3 bedrooms on one level important to me, for raising a family too. I also loved the “flow” of the home, with the walk through from kitchen, dining and living area, and the way you can get a great breeze moving through. The porch on the front also charmed me, with such an inviting place to relax and enjoy the evenings.
- What is it about this house / this land that makes it better than other homes / land? What can other properties NOT match?
I think the mudroom and sunroom combo with the super duper convenient bathroom. Having a “transition space”, makes a busy life so much easier to manage. Also the preserved woodwork - never painted on the mail level - is pretty awesome. Lastly the all new window, custom wood on interior stained to match the original woodwork, enjoyment of the sun, with hassle free cleaning.
- What unique activities did you do in this house / on this land?
Oh so much crafting in the sunroom. We also did a lot of bike maintenance in the basement. And I almost forgot, Canning veggies, copious amounts of baking and cooking.
- What have been your favorite activities to do / places to visit in the neighborhood and surrounding areas?
The co-op, (38th and 4th?) and easy bike ride away, also love visiting MLK park at sunrise, the Lowbrow after a long work week.
- What do people say when they come here to visit you?
“I love your house!” they comment on the woodwork, how cool the sunroom is with the convertible couch/bed, and the wall in the entryway with the tongue and grove old growth pine from the ceiling of the old porch. People say “how lucky” we are to have the mud room and a great space to put all of the stuff required to live in a 4 season climate.
