Simi Valley’s Big Sky Community Association is a master planned community located in northcentral Simi Valley. Big Sky is located north of the 118 Freeway between Erringer Road and Tapo Canyon Road, hidden in the beautiful canyons beneath Whiteface Mountain. The community is masterfully designed around rolling hills and gorgeous natural terrain. A team of developers joined together to build this community of nearly 800 single family homes. This community was the combined efforts of Shea Homes, Standard Pacific Homes and D.R. Horton, and it offers single family homes ranging in size from 2,000 square feet to nearly 5,000 square feet, in addition to many custom home sites throughout the development. Castlewood is one of the many beautiful developments within Big Sky offering homes ranging from 3,000 square feet to over 4,500 square feet, many with swimming pools and views.
Big Sky is for people that enjoy being outdoors. The name of the community itself should be hint enough that the commanding views and natural surroundings are the ideal place to launch your next adventure. Besides the many neighborhood parks and greenbelts, the community will play host to a public park operated by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. This proposed 15-acre park will consist of both passive and active recreational opportunities. It will also serve as the trailhead for hikes that reach out into the ridgelines surrounding the community. You’ll enjoy the peaceful and beautiful natural scenery from almost everywhere within Big Sky at Simi Valley. As you look around, you may see hawks or owls soaring above you, horses on a stroll with their owners, and depending upon the time of year, wild flowers or even green or golden rolling hills. It is not uncommon to see families riding their bikes or enjoying the hiking trails as well.
One of the hidden luxuries of Big Sky are the schools your children will attend. Touted for years as one of the stronger school districts in the Southland, the Simi Valley Unified School District offers an outstanding education from elementary through high school. The city also has one adult school, one continuation school and three private high schools. In addition, there are 2 universities and two community colleges within commuting distance.
Please come and take a look at the beautiful area known as Big Sky at Simi Valley. You’ll be glad that you did.
