Q&A with The Sellers of 3326 Pierce Street NE
1. What compelled you to buy THIS house?
From the moment we walked into this house, it just felt nice, open, and peaceful. We loved the tree-lined streets, the friendly neighbors, and the large backyard. Though we've made many aesthetic updates since we've owned the place, the house just felt pleasant to be in from the first day.
2. What is it about this house that makes it better than other homes? What can other homes not match?
This home has so much original charm--high coved ceilings, glass doorknobs, wood trim, and a very funky mid-century basement. The second floor is open, bright, and has an exceptional amount of built in storage. The backyard is so peaceful and very productive--there are two plum trees, raspberry bushes, and a raised bed vegetable and herb garden. Also, the sunset views out the back windows or from the backyard are incredible!
3. What unique activities did you do in this house?
We lived in this house when we were married, brought our first child home to this house, and spent a lot of time together listening to music and dancing in the living room. We've made delicious meals from our backyard garden and spent countless hours playing in the backyard. We've done a lot of updates on the house--gutting and renovating the second floor, adding a bathroom upstairs, and renovating the kitchen. It has been a wonderful first home for us.
4. What have been your favorite activities to do / places to visit in the neighborhood and surrounding areas?
We love this neighborhood! We often walk down the street to Hill Valley Cafe for brunch or coffee and on nice days we walk to the Eastside Food Coop, Fair State Brewery, or Aki's Bread Haus. Chimborazo is one of our favorite spots for dinner or takeout. We spend many weekend days with our child at the various parks in the neighborhood. This neighborhood is also close to both downtowns, the Northeast Arts District, North Loop, and St. Anthony Main--we love exploring the different restaurants and cultural events in those neighborhoods. We also love having such easy access to two great movie theaters--The Heights and St. Anthony Main Theater.
5. What do people say when they come here to visit you?
Our friends and family love this neighborhood. When people enter our home for the first time, they often comment on the high ceilings, bright kitchen, and the beautiful updates to the second floor.
