2126 Glenhurst Road: A Letter to the Buyers

Dear Friends,
 
We knew we wanted to live in the Lake Forest Neighborhood because of how convenient it is to everything.  Neither of us liked long commutes or sitting in traffic.  When we saw the home we were charmed by the layout.  It was warm, cozy and perfect for our growing family.  It was in need of some updates and we were excited to remodel to really make it our own.

The beauty of this house is that there are enough common areas where we could be together as a family and also quiet spaces that everyone could retreat to.  

Over the 20 years we’ve lived here we’ve remodeled every space.  We decided that we loved the location so much that we would just keep modifying the house to meet our needs.  As a result this house has all the of the charms of a older home but with a high tech, high end updates.  Only the best appliances and material were used.  

The backyard has hosted birthdays, graduations, baby showers, wedding showers, anniversaries and hundreds of backyard barbecues.  It’s perfect for a family with small children or teenagers.  There is plenty of room to play and grow.  Our house was always the “destination” house as the kids grew up

Many happy memories were made riding on the bike paths (just behind the house) to the Walker Art Museum or the farmers market, around the lakes (2 blocks away) or to the local restaurants on a warm summer night.

This house is 5 minutes from downtown but is tucked back on a dead-end street so there is very little traffic.  Guests have always commented that they, “didn’t know this neighborhood was back here.”  The mature trees on the lot and in the neighborhood keep the house cool in the summer and postcard perfect in the winter when the snow falls.
