1. What compelled you to buy THIS house?

We wanted a house that was a hard combination - functional, enough character without being hard to maintain, and potential to become a family-friendly home, inside and out - and it has been that!

2. What is it about this house that makes it better than other homes? What can other homes not match?

This home is a wonderful location - a playground a block away, new bike paths leading to the gateway trail and connecting to the gem of the eastside - Phalen Park. It has a quiet residential feel, and is close enough to highway 36 and I-35 to feel connected to the larger twin cities with short drives.

3. What unique activities did you do in this house?

With flexible room spaces, we were able to have both a nursery on the same level as the master, as well as a fun dream-room for a toddler on the upper floor. We with an open flow between the living and dining rooms and great backyard space, we were able to host birthday parties, cookouts, and family holidays.

4. What have been your favorite activities to do / places to visit in the neighborhood and surrounding areas?

We love the quickly growing quality restaurant scene on the eastside's "eat street" (Payne Avenue). We also love being so close to bike trails, Lake Phalen park with trails, playgrounds, and wonderful green space.

5. What do people say when they come here to visit you?

People love our newly fenced-in backyard (great for kids and pets!) with its patio and deck for spacious outdoor entertaining. They also love the guest suite in the basement with it's own private full bath. And people love the charm and character of our historic home, appreciating it's modern updates.
