Riverbend is a desirable neighborhood in Sun City and known as a more upscale enclave on Route 170 featuring larger homes with larger lots than the rest of Sun City and more mature landscaping. Phase I on the right side of Tidewatch, is comprised of mostly Del Webb homes and Phase II (on the left side of Tidewatch) is mostly custom-built homes.  It is a waterfront, gated community near the Okatee (different spelling than Okatie, SC) River headwaters, known for its ideal location and is secluded in a wooded area. Sun City/Riverbend residents have quick access to Beaufort, Hilton Head, and Savannah. Riverbend is a neighborhood in  Sun City where each home must have at least one resident at least 55 years of age.
