Alderson is a beautiful and quiet residential community with retail establishments in its downtown historic district. You will find many camps and vacation homes along the Greenbrier River and tourists visiting the surrounding countryside. Driving around this small town, you will see homes from the turn of the 20th Century, such as Federal, Queen Anne and Victorian styled homes. Transportation by car is the best way to see this beautiful historic town. Alderson is about 12 miles from Interstate 64, 16 miles west of historic Lewisburg, the county seat of Greenbrier County; 23 miles east of Hinton, WV, and about 45 miles east of Beckley, WV. The Greenbrier Valley Airport located in Lewisburg, WV is nearby or take Amtrak, the national passenger rail service, providing service to Alderson under the Cardinal route.
