The gated golf course community of Lake Manassas has been a sought after address, around the time the
Robert Trent Jones Golf Club hosted the inaugural President's Cup event. The golf course may be a draw for PGA fans, but the residents of Gainesville, VA know Lake Manassas to be a luxury golf course community.
Homes in Lake Manassas range in style and size. This brick colonial may look like a traditional Northern Virginia colonial, but step inside and see the contemporary flair that this Sycamore model by Miller and Smith has added to that style. A center foyer entry, with formal living and dining rooms flanking the entry way is tradition. Step into the the dining room, through to the kitchen and this home will give you a flirtatious wink.
The center island of the kitchen an angle will change your perception of kitchen islands being either paralell or perpendicular to the four walls surrounding it. The island now boasts granite counters in shades of white and gray, not pictured here. The contemporary flair of the angled design continues with the angled gas fireplace that shows you into the family room. Beyond the kitchen is a breakfast room, with three walls of windows, one being an exit to the wood deck.
Stepping back around through the family room to the living room things get back to tradition. You'll notice a study with a wood burning, brick fireplace with built-in bookcases surrounding it. This is a substantial feeling room.
Hardwood floors cover the entire main level. And you'll be delighted to know that plantation shutters cover every window on every floor.
Upstairs no space is wasted with the configuration of the bedrooms and the space feels cozier with wall to wall carpeting. Step right into the master suite at the top of the stairs and find a perfectly sized room with a vaulted ceiling and a step into the sitting are and master bathroom beyond. The pictures show a lot of wallpaper. Great news! That wallpaper is no more. It is a neutral paint on the walls. Whew! Same goes for the second full bathroom off the hallway. No more wallpaper there either. Just neutral paint.
The secondary bedrooms are generously proportioned, but again, aren't too big or too small. Laundry area is on the upper level, where the vast majority of dirty clothes end their journey. If you tour the home and notice there is no washer and dryer, don't panic. They are in the basement and will be installed before you take possession. While the home was rented, the tenants had their own washer and dryer installed for use.
The walk up basement has a lot of open space for fun and has a 16 x 16 ceramic tile floor. And there is an additional full bathroom. Unfortunately, there is wallpaper here in this third full bathroom, just like the main level powder room, but you wouldn't let two bathrooms with wallpaper stop you from buying the home of your dreams, would you? Other rooms in the basement include two dens, one in a smaller ceramic tile than the recreation area and one with carpet.
The back yard is filled with trees, giving a feeling of seclusion, even though the community pool is literally about 100 yards from the back yard and straight across the road.
This home not just a brick front, but brick all on all four sides. That's Lake Manassas for you. Nothing done halfway. Come take a look and see what you think.
