6880 Empire Lane North
Welcome to 6880 Empire Lane North. Seven years ago we looked at dozens of houses before falling in love with this one. We can’t pinpoint a single feature, but the entire house left us with the feeling that we just knew it was the one. We love the wide open kitchen space. Our family spends a lot of time here eating, playing and hanging out. Plus the open layout allows us to keep an eye on the kids whether they’re in the front yard or in the back yard.
Since we end up spending the majority of our time in the kitchen area, the multiple levels puts you just a few steps away from anywhere you want to be in the house. Yet also give you a little bit of a buffer if the kids are playing up or down and you need a little break from chaos.
The bedrooms have transformed over the years from guest rooms and extra space to bedrooms for our children, and then again as they grew bigger. The lower basement started out as a “man cave” and slowly transitioned to a playroom and eventually to an extra bedroom. The living room is a great hangout spot and the built-in cabinets are an added bonus feature with tons of storage.
Our home has been great for celebrating many occasions. From New Year’s Eve parties to birthday parties to Super Bowl parties to casual cook-outs, it’s provided us with flexibility and plenty of space to handle any size gathering.
We will definitely miss our yard. It’s big enough to setup a massive swing set and still have tons of space for playing and running around. The tree line in the back provides nice privacy on the east side and the lilacs on the north side also provide an additional buffer. The corner lot gives us a little extra space and additional privacy too. The storage shed in the back yard is also a great feature as we stored our lawnmower and eventually some of the many bikes and toys.
We absolutely love the location. For starters having the park just a few blocks away has been great. We went from pushing strollers to pulling wagons to riding our bikes to the park. The trails, dog park and beach down at Fish Lake are also just a few blocks away and are great for exercising, relaxing at the beach or even fishing. Also it’s a quick drive to access the main highways (494/694/94) with the heart of Maple Grove and lots of shops, stores and restaurants just minutes away.
Our neighborhood is fantastic and everyone is very warm and embracing and immediately had us feeling like part of the community. Over the years we’ve become very close with many of the neighbors and it will be sad for us all to leave them.
We’re sorry to leave this great house and great neighbors. We’ve made new friends, relationships and tons of memories over the years and hope you can love your time in this home as much as we have.
Sincerely,
The Sellers
