6320 Irving Ave S: Q&A with the Sellers
1. What compelled you to buy THIS house?
- Mr. Seller: “When I purchased the house I liked the location and proximity to the different neighborhoods in Minneapolis. I thought it was in good shape and had a decent sized yard with great trees and shade. The freeway access going everywhere is a real advantage.”
- Mrs. Seller: “One of the most compelling things about the house was the proximity (and cheap cab fare!) to the city, but with all of the conveniences of the Edina/Yorktown area. Also, the house was just the perfect size for us starting out!”
2. What is it about this house that makes it better than other homes? What can other homes not match?
- Mr. Seller: “We have put a ton of work into updating this house. The bathroom is completely refinished. The hardwood floors were refinished. The kitchen has a modern look with stainless steel appliances. The new paver patio is great for entertaining and enjoying the shade of the mature trees. I doubt many houses can match the perennial gardens this house has.”
- Mrs. Seller: “Aside from all of the modern updates Mr. Seller mentioned, we really do have a fantastic yard that has had a lot of work put into the perennial gardens.”
3. What unique activities did you do in this house?
- Mr. Seller: “We got engaged in this house. Brought our first child home to this house. Had many a BBQ and watched many sporting events with friends in the man cave.”
- Mrs. Seller: “We entertained quite a bit at this house, both BBQ/summer patio/yard games as well as Sunday Game days.”
4. What have been your favorite activities to do / places to visit in the neighborhood and surrounding areas?
- Mr. Seller: “We always enjoying entertaining friends and family on the patio throughout the summer and fall with the grill and smoker. We have really enjoyed living close the city lakes and the different restaurants in the area. ”
- Mrs. Seller: “We have many restaurants in our area, easy access to the lakes, 3 parks we enjoyed bringing our son to (one is only 1 block away!), four grocery stores within a few miles, Wood Lake nature center, Southdale mall... I know there is more, but this should get your list off to a good start!”
5. What do people say when they come here to visit you?
- Mr. Seller: “People who visit our house always comment on the trees and the shade. Many people mention that we have quite the man cave basement.”
- Mrs. Seller: “People always mention the backyard, the shade and the trees, the great location, how close we are to everything, and the ‘man cave’.”
6. Tell me about the perennial plants you have in the yard and/or any other outside features you love.
- Mr. Seller: “From spring to fall there are many different varieties of perennial plants blooming all over the yard that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. The trees we have are Silver maple, Crimson king Maple, White Oak, Pagoda Dogwood and Japanese Maple. The yard has many varieties of Day Lilies, Hosta, Peony, Allium, and Asiatic Lilies. The list goes on about the plants.”
- Mrs. Seller: “Mr. Seller has the green thumb, so this is his territory, but aside from the beautiful landscape, the gate is also new…”
