Delta, Colorado is one of several small communities that make up Delta County. It's part of the banana belt which makes for hot summers and mild winters. The area is also known for its abundance of fresh, locally grown produce. If you love playing outdoors, this is the place for you. Delta is about thirty five minutes from the Grand Mesa National Forest, the Uncompahgre Plateau and Escalante Canyon. The Grand Mesa has over 300 lakes and most of them have fish. Delta is centrally located close to many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, cross country skiing downhill skiing, hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling and camping. You can enjoy all of these activities and not have to travel very far.  Of course you can also kick back, relax and just enjoy the scenery. There is no typical thing about Delta. In one day you can play in the snow on Grand Mesa and then come back to the valley and play nine holes of golf in a t shirt. Every drive is a scenic drive. The Grand Mesa dominates the landscape of Delta County. It's known as the world's largest flattop mountain. The West Elk Mountains border the county to the east. Ouray, Telluride and Ridgway aren't too far away, either. The area host many events over the course of the year including the famous Deltarado Days. Confluence Park is right in town. It has a large lake, walking trails, a dog park, disc golf course and Gunnison River access. If you want to live in Colorado, this is the place you need to call home. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and experience a different kind of living.
