To the next owners of this sweet bungalow, we wanted to share a few of the things we have loved about having 4001 20th Avenue South as our home: • watching the gorgeous sunsets over the park from our front steps every night all summer long, while enjoying the scent of roses and peonies wafting from our garden • hearing the voices of bicyclists chatting as they go by on the bicycle boulevard, instead of the sound of cars • the distant sound of children's laughter drifting up from the playground on summer afternoons • quiet winter evenings by a cozy fire • holiday meals spent in living spaces warmed by the glow of woodwork gleaming in candlelight • crossing the street to sled down the hill, then coming home for hot cocoa without ever getting into a car • cold winter evenings brightened by slipping across the street for ice skating or a quick game of pick-up hockey • bicycling to the Riverview Theater to catch a movie on the big screen • Sunday morning walks to the Baker's Wife for one of their famous cherry-cream cheese danish or a donut still warm from the fryer • strolls around Lake Hiawatha where you can see ducks, geese, loons, muskrats, and fish jumping • walking to hop on Light Rail to catch a baseball game or a nice meal downtown • frequenting the Midtown Farmer's Market for beautiful local produce and the best food trucks around every Tuesday and Saturday • yoga, Pilates, swimming or running the track at the Midtown YWCA • bike rides along Minnehaha Parkway over to the falls, with a stop for Dairy Queen on the way or a meal of fried clams at Sea Salt • picking up fresh-cut flowers at Acanthus two blocks away • getting to be on a first-name basis with our grocers and butchers at Everett's—you can't beat doing your marketing without ever taking your car keys out! • getting to know our neighbors as they stop to chat on their way to walk dogs or children around the park We hope that you enjoy living here as much as we have over the years....it is a wonderful place to take advantage of the amenities of urban living while being part of a close-knit community with a small town friendliness.
