Rock Hill is the largest city in York County, South Carolina and the fifth largest city in the state. Rock Hill is also the fourth largest city in the Greater Charlotte metro area, located about 25 miles south Charlotte.

Rock Hill offers scenic riverfront views along the Catawba River and is home to numerous nature trails, restaurants, and some 31 parks used for both national and local events. Its historic downtown  (Old Town Rock Hill) consists of twelve contiguous buildings built as early as 1840 offering dining and retail options (now on the National Register).

The city is home to three colleges. Winthrop University, a public liberal arts university founded in 1886, enrolls nearly 6,000 students annually.
