Valparaiso makes ice cream also-Valpo Velvet Ice Cream Shop at 55 W. Monroe St. (pictured below) is a must stop by & have - our favorite is Cappuccino-Chocolate Chip- Frozen Yogurt! Besides the famed popcorn fest, terrific ice cream, and many excellent dining establishments, (some of which offer outdoor seating in season along the main street named Linclonway), the City of Valparaiso is also know for its renouned University ! Valparaiso University has been a top notch private college in town since 1859. GO V.U. !!! - We love going to the Crusader Basketball games and plan to BLOG more on this when the Season starts in November !! Kelsey' s Steak House has been a landmark on US Highway 30 in Valparaiso, IN for as long as we can remember... BECAUSE IT HAS THIS HUGE COW ON DISPLAY. There was a BIG controversy that prompted the Mayor to even SING to save the Cow! Yes, HOWIE the COW Remains a Valpo Landmark!
