What it feels like to live in Lauderdale By The Sea, Florida?
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a paradise waiting for you to
explore with lusciously soft golden sand, pristine, uncrowded beach, beautiful
parks, great shopping, dining, fun outdoors lifestyle and strong community
spirit.
As described by the local residents, "We’re so small, no
car needed”, you don’t need a car to enjoy this charming beachfront town or,
more aptly described seaside village. Everything you need is conveniently
located within a few steps of where you live and all literally on the sand.
Nestled between the larger neighborhoods of Fort Lauderdale
and Pompano Beach is the quaint, laid back, walkable, accessible and friendly
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, a “flip-flop kind of town,” so throw a shirt over your
bathing suit and enjoy the beach life – we are that kind of place!
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea stretches from the Atlantic Ocean west
to the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway, with beautiful marine sculptures along
Commercial Boulevard. Here you will find an amazing selection of locally-owned
and operated one-of-a-kind shops with artisan jewelry, clothing, and gift
items, as well as bistro-style restaurants, ice cream shops, and bakeries along
the way.
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea a designated “Blue Wave Beach,” a
distinction given to clean and environmentally-responsible beach communities,
is a paradise waiting for you to explore. Relax on our pristine world-class
beach, walk the pier, cast a line, or sit in one of many Adirondack chairs
around town to relax and people-watch. Regardless if you live here or are just
passing through you will enjoy this beach town and soon will discover the
meaning of its slogan "Relax, you're here."
Recognized as "Florida’s Beach Diving Capital,” the
Town’s shoreline is a mecca for scuba divers with coral reefs teeming with
marine life less than 100 yards off the beach. Just 100 yards from the beach is
the first reef of a three-tiered natural coral reef system. It’s super easy to
snorkel or dive right from our sandy beach and go nose to nose with fish,
turtles, and lobsters (divers walking through Town is very common here) – and
of course, fishing from our historic pier over the ocean is our most iconic
place to visit.
You can kayak, paddle board, skim and kiteboard right off of
our beaches as well. For more leisurely activities, picnic in our seaside
parks, soak up the sun on the beach or relax poolside at your low-rise hotel
with the scented breeze reminding you of just how close you are to the ocean.
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea may be tiny, but that doesn’t mean it’s
boring. “We’re a small town and we’re staying that way”- say its residents,
taking pride in being different from their big neighbors to the north and south
(Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach), exuding old Florida charm with the
low-rise downtown building restrictions and predominantly mid-century modern
architecture giving it a distinctive identity, embraced the residents as
important features of LBTS's legacy and heritage. What this quaint town lacks
in size it more than makes up for in sheer beauty and a slew of fun things to
do. Serenely fronted by lusciously soft golden sand, this seaside village is
the perfect spot for visitors hoping to enjoy a quiet day at the beach.
Lauderdale by The Sea has become one of South Florida’s most
sought-after places to live. Its adorable sidewalk
cafés and live music make it easy to slip into vacation mode even if you live
here all year round.
