The neighborhood (Alamo Square Park Historic District) is sandwiched between NOPA -- 2 blocks away, with lots of restaurants and bars on Divisadero - Little Star Pizza, Bar Crudo, the Mill, La Urbana, Fly Bar, Tsunami sushi, NOPA restaurant, and The Independent, and Lower Fillmore's re-vitalized historic jazz district. There's a Yoshi's, on Fillmore, and several jazz clubs. Another five-minute walk puts you in Hayes Valley, Japan Town or the Lower Haight. There are also two neighborhood farmer's markets on Saturday and Sunday.
Bus Lines
There are good bus lines, including the #5 Fulton which runs from your corner to downtown. Also, close by are the 16AX, 16 BX, 21, 22, 24 & 31. The Octavia on-ramp to 101 is nearby as well.
