Dear Buyer,

You have found yourself a beautiful corner of the universe.

Just one block off the main drag, but on a street that gets very few cars, I can’t tell you how many dinners were salvaged by a quick walk to Holiday, how many Sunday morning Bread Art pastries we enjoyed, and how many bonfires and shared 4ths of July we had with the neighbors over the last 6 years that we called State St our home.

These three homes contain some of the kindest people I have ever met, and they surrounded us with warmth during every life joy we experienced and every personal crisis we faced.

It’s the little things that all add up. This is the kind of neighborhood where we drank wine (and one of the neighbor’s famous margaritas) together, shared tools, partnered on projects, helped snow blow each other’s driveways when we’re out of town (and sometimes just because), and made sure packages were safely stowed away. I never worried about my home or my kids when I wasn’t there because I knew there were 5 sets of eyes that would be looking out for us.

If you’re an outdoors lover, You are just a few blocks away from a trail that will lead you up on the bluffs overlooking the St Croix – at 2 miles, it’s the perfect after-work picnic spot, and if you’re more of a morning person than me, a great place to see the sunrise. You’re a few blocks from an amazing beach at Lakeside or a quick bike ride around the Stillwater loop ending in a lovely dinner downtown, or in Bayport at Manger on the back patio.

In the morning, the sun filters onto the back patio and in the dining room and kitchen and lights up the wood floors. Because I am a sun addict, that’s where I enjoy my morning coffee…. And in the evening, I soak up the last drips of sunset with a fire and a glass in the front yard.

During our time here we put new siding and roofs on the 3 buildings, a new furnace, hot water heater, and dishwasher. We also replaced all the linoleum and carpet downstairs with vinyl plank that would compliment the hardwood floors we love so much.

If we were staying in Minnesota, we would have never left this cute home that has carried us through so much. But our life journey is taking us south to Arizona and so we are parting ways 135 State St S and giving a chance for someone new to put their fingerprint on this corner of the world.

I hope you find as much joy in this home and community as we did. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better place to call home.
