To the new owners of our home:

When we walked into this house, the first thing we saw was the beautiful banister on the stairway. The next things that we saw were the stained glass windows and the built-in buffet. Sold! That did it; we really didn’t have to see any more. The stairway is gorgeous. The treads and risers have been stained to match the banister. The rich stain on the stairway is accented by the light wood floors everywhere else. We have had all of the wood floors refinished and the porch recarpeted.

Since buying the house we did a total remodel of the kitchen including all new stainless steel appliances, maple cabinets, refinishing the hardwood floor, and moving the back door and windows to accommodate the improvements.

One thing that we will miss very much is the backyard. There are blackberries growing along the side of the garage and blueberry bushes by the back fence. We also planted shrub roses along the fence. The lawn is bordered on both sides with peonies and the house is edged with hosta. We built raised bed gardens. If you keep them you’ll probably have volunteer cherry tomatoes and pole beans. It’s remarkable that in the city we have a backyard big enough for all of that plus a swing-set and a beautiful brick patio.

Because the backyard is large and the basement is finished, we have a lot of room to entertain guests in the summer and winter. When guests come over they are amazed at all of the natural woodwork and the charming nature of the home.

Something that you can’t tell by looking at our house is that we have amazing neighbors. From the day we moved in they have been welcoming friends. Our kids play together and in the summer we often spend the evenings hanging out around bonfires. They are always there to watch our kids, pet sit, and house sit.

As for the location, you’re within walking distance of three city parks and Hamline University. There are two coffee shops just a short walk away and you’re just five minutes from Como Park. You’re also just minutes away from I-94, Super Target, Cub, and Rainbow, but you’d never realize it.

We love this house, if we could move it with us we would. We hope that you’ll love it too.
