Pineville Lake Park has picnic facilities, tennis courts, fishing, and a performance stage that often features movies, concerts, and other entertainment. Baseball and softball games abound in season at the Jack D Hughes Memorial Park.
A thriving medical community has also evolved in Pineville. Carolinas HealthCare System operates CMC-Pineville, a major medical facility.
