The Windsor Terrace property/project was developed by local Nashvillian, Steven G. Hall, starting in 1986. Acting as concept and planning consultant was Diane Hall Wright, the developer's sister. Also a Realtor on the project, with 100+ sales over the years in Windsor Terrace and she lived in Windsor Terrace for almost 14 years.

The primary thought behind building The Windsor Terrace was to create a special residential condominium community that felt, and lived, like a neighborhood, complete with sidewalks, underground utilities and quaint lampposts. The quiet, pastoral location, tucked off of the main highway into a hidden valley, is surrounded by nature with its trees, hills and wildlife. The Windsor Terrace was designed to stand the test of changing times, while remaining true to its original concept.

Architect for the project was Tom Bulla with Bulla & Associates, well known for other residential homes. studios and offices on Music Row, as well as, related numerous additions and projects, over the years, within Nashville's Opryland Hotel complex.

The Builder for the complex was another well known Nashville native with a lengthy resume, George Gianikas with Gianikas Contractors, having built residential homes and condominiums all over Davidson and Williamson counties.

The original 54 units, all a mix of one and two story condos and townhomes, no stacked units, were built between 1986 and 1988. The remaining 16 townhomes were built in 2000. All 70 units are brick and have private patios with courtyards, except for three units which have balconies. All units have private carports or garages, and all but one unit has a fireplace.

There is also a private, fence enclosed, gated swimming pool with separate restroom facilities for the residents and their guests.

It is located in a small neighborhood of only 70 Units, consisting of 2 bedroom one-level condo cottages and flats and 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses. They range in size from the smallest flat at 1010 s.f. to the largest townhouse at 2579 s.f. All are located on a peaceful dead-end street.

The Windsor Terrace is located in West Nashville, east of the intersection of Hwy. 70S and Old Hickory Blvd. and are just minutes to Interstate 40. It is conveniently located within a very short distance to dining, shopping, grocery and drug stores, banking services, fitness center, nail and hair salons. Public Transportation services are available nearby. It now has a new shopping complex known as One Bellevue Place, which is has retail shopping, entertainment venues, restaurants, multifamily residential units, a hotel and professional/medical offices. It is located at the intersection of I-40 and US 70 South.

Windsor Terrace is also near Edwin and Percy Warner Parks, Loveless Cafe, Starbucks, Belle Meade, and shopping and dining in the West Nashville area. It is about a 20 minute drive to downtown Nashville, Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, Baptist Hospital and St. Thomas Ascension Hospital.

Friends of Warner Parks Group recently purchased the 324-acre Hill property that is home to an old-growth forest of trees more than two centuries old for inclusion in the Warner Parks system.
