Los Altos City Council

City Council members are elected at-large to four-year terms in November of even-numbered years. The City Council is responsible for determining City policies and service standards. Adoption of the two-year Financial Plan by Council allocates the City's financial and human resources to support its goals and objectives for the two-year cycle. The City's Municipal Code and General Plan are also adopted and amended by Council action.

City Council Meetings

City Council meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Meeting Chambers located at:

Information packets for Council meetings may be found online. Additionally, copies of packets are available at City Hall and each of the City's libraries the Friday prior to Council meetings.

City Council Open Office Hours
The Los Altos City Council is pleased to announce Open Office Hours. Each week, one City Council member will be available to the public for a two-hour period to answer questions, receive input and discuss topics of interest to community members.
