At the top of White Rock Mountain is the The Retreat's Clubhouse. It is a grand lodge-style community clubhouse with full a kitchen, social and event spaces and magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Other amenities at the lodge include a spa, sauna, whirlpool, and an infinity pool.

In addition to the community's own network of hiking and biking trails, residents have easy access to hiking and biking along the 78 miles of the Greenbrier River Trail system. Other outdoor activities in the region include superb bird-watching, horseback riding, caving and rock climbing as well as downhill skiing and snowboarding about 90 minutes away at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

Nearby golfing options include five acclaimed courses at The Greenbrier Resort, the Lewisburg Elks Country Club in Lewisburg and the Valley View Country Club in White Sulphur Springs.

For boating and fishing there are nearby creeks, rivers and lakes that are stocked with trout, smallmouth bass, catfish and muskie. The area is also a popular destination for whitewater rafting, kayaking, and inner-tubing on the Greenbrier River.

There’s plenty of shopping and dining as The Retreat is convenient to a good selection of retail shops and dining options in Lewisburg and White Sulphur Springs.

Health Care

The community is about 15 minutes from the Greenbrier Clinic, a diagnostic health care facility located at the Greenbrier resort. Additional medical services are available in White Sulphur Springs and Lewisburg, and at LewisGale Hospital Allegheny about 30 minutes away in Low Moor.
