FROM THE HOMEOWNERS:

1) Why do you love the home?

·         It is very comfortable to live in this home; it feels open and beautiful. We enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets and sometimes the clouds roll over the mountains. It looks amazing!

·         Our daughter has the space to run around in this home and has a big play area.

·         The house is good quality. We have not had to fix anything much around the house.

·         We enjoy swimming and so does our daughter, so the pool was an instant hit. We have gas heating and solar panels for heating the pool, which has been very nice. We also have enjoyed large gatherings and pool parties at our home - everybody had a blast!

·         The location is great!  It has been convenient for us to have busy lives with such close access to 280/92 and all the amenities lined up on Ralston Ave.

·         The neighbors have been terrific.  We feel safe and welcomed.

2) What initially attracted you to this home?

Beautiful views- we’re close to nature yet have very easy access to all amenities and close to work.  The home is practical yet resort-like. You can sit outside on the deck watching over the beautiful views of the bay- feels no less than being at Big Sur every day! You can see the Bay Bridge on one side and the San Mateo Bridge on the other side on a clear day from our deck or the kitchen window. Our daughter (now 2 years old) was born in this home, so it is very special to us and her.

3) What are some nice things about the schools?

The school district is great, and the overall culture of this city is very decent, respectful, and welcoming. Several of our colleagues' kids have studied in the schools here and were very happy with their accomplishments. There are several great home daycares and Montessori schools (such as Edison Montessori) in the area.

4) What are some nice things about the neighborhood?

·         It is a VERY friendly neighborhood.  Our neighbors have been very helpful to us, without ever being intrusive. Our nextdoor neighbor is an aeronautical engineer, his wife works at Burberry, and both their children are at Google. There is also another engineer from Google in the cul-de-sac. The neighbors know we both work and have a small child, so they watch over our daughter while we are at work and our daughter is with a nanny at our home.  They also do small things without asking or saying anything- like bringing back our trash cans from the street, jump starting our car once, etc. They really helped us settle here: recommended handymen, pool services, landscaper, anything we struggled with. They’ve truly been wonderful!

·         Our daughter loves the park with play structures behind the church!  The pastor and the church members have been very kind and offered their services to help us move, transportation, landscaping, or just to be a friendly face J  The pastor is open to us using their parking spaces on occasion for our personal guests, and our daughter sometimes rides her bike in their parking lot and in the cul-de-sac.

·         It is a very safe neighborhood.  When we take walks with our daughter, many of the neighbors stop and introduce themselves and say hi.

·         It is a good balance of homes with young kids and a more mature population.

·         The Belmont Library is just excellent- our daughter has gone there almost every day of her life!! There is a great park (Belameda Park) right next to it, and the people who come to the library and park are well educated, multi-cultural, and super nice. We and our daughter made several good friends at that park. Twin Pines Park is also very close and has a great facilities as well as fun events from time to time such as live music, book sales, etc.  Carlmont Village Shopping Center has many family owned stores that organize events like a Halloween Parade through the shopping center, Easter Egg Hunt at the Carlmont Nursery, Christmas Tree Lighting event, etc.

·         Groceries/Food: Carlmont Village near the library has a great grocery store, Lunardi's.  There is also an organic produce shop on Polhemus (family owned), and a 24-hour Safeway in Crystal Spring Shopping Center. Crystal Spring Mall has the famous Lily's Creperie, a family-run place where both of the owners have become good friends with our family. There is Starbucks, a bakery, another coffee shop, a pizza place, and more at Crystal Springs. Multi-cuisine food is conveniently located all along Ralston.

·         Other amenities: Cleaners, Banks, Pharmacies, Dentists, etc. are all close by. Twin Pines Park has activities for seniors from time to time. There are multiple Summer Recreation Activities at low cost available to the general public in Belmont (advertised through Belmont local paper).

·         Very close to downtown San Carlos and downtown San Mateo.

·         Hikes: Sawyer Camp Trail is great for running/hiking/biking, is family-friendly, overlooks the Crystal Spring Reservoir, has a very beautiful trail, and is less than a mile away! Waterdog Lake Park and Laurelwood Park are other nice parks close by.

We hope you enjoy this home and community as much as we have!!!
