Port Angeles was ranked <0 out of 100 on Livibility.com 2015 Top 100 Best Small Town's in the United States. Port Angeles has a population of 19,099. Home to Peninsula College, Port Angeles also has a high-achieving local school district. The city connects to the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) that traverses 130 miles of lowlands bordered by the Olympic Mountain Range and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It starts in the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, WA and ends on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Other recreational opportunities for residents include mountains, rivers, lakes and forestland. An 80-bed Olympic Medical Center services residents and anchors health care in Port Angeles, while city officials are redeveloping the downtown district.

Sequim, WA, is only 15 minutes away and is considered one of the best small cities to retire to, because of its mild winters, and over 300 days of sunshine per year. It is located in the Olympic Mountain "Rain Shadow" and pilots flying overhead call it the "Blue Hole".

This property is a short eight mile drive to the entrance of the Olympic National Park, which is the 6th largest National Park in the Continental United States.

Unobstructed views from the home include Port Angeles Harbor and waterfront, Ediz Hook, Coast Guard Air Station, and Vancouver, British Columbia. (Canada) You can also see a beautiful view of Victoria, B.C.'s city lights at night, the San Juan Islands, the Olympic Mountain Range, and on a clear day, Mt. Baker to the East.

Watch Orcas and other sea creatures playing in the Harbor. Eagles at eye level and deer walk across the lawn.

Fairchild International Airport is a short 10 minute drive from the property.

The spectacular deep water harbor views are always changing. Watch, and listen as the ships drop anchor in the Harbor while waiting for a spot to open up in one of the cities closer to Seattle so they can off load their cargo, usually oil.

There is a clear view of the sea lanes for all ships (which include tankers, container ships and cruise ships, submarines and military ships) in bound from the Pacific Ocean and out bound from the Puget Sound...Seattle, and Tacoma. The tankers, container ships and cruise ships (an average of one per hour) stop in front of the house and either drop off or pick up an “inland waterways pilot” from a pilot boat located on Ediz Hook. Watch the helicopters and cutters from the Coast Guard Air Station just across the harbor.

Occasionally in the early evening hours the Coast Guard drops rescue divers in the water from helicopters, guided by spotlights to find a "victim after a simulated boat sinking. (No need for cable T.V. here!).

This is a truly unique property, you have incredible Olympic Mountain views from the front and 180 degree view of a working harbor and the Strait of Juan de Fuca from the water side of the home.
