Belvidere is a charming Victorian town founded in 1845. Belvidere, located on the banks of the Delaware and Pequest Rivers, is the county seat for scenic Warren County, NJ. It is also the home to multiple antique shops, eateries, and retail establishments.

This town takes great pride in its American Victorian era heritage, with many homes serving as an example of the era's exquisite architecture and style. A large variety of family names and homes can be traced back to the 19th century in this area, if not earlier, and the town happily welcomes our many new families who are helping to build our future history as a strong community we can all continue to be proud of.

Belvidere was named by Robert Morris, signer of the Declaration of Independence, who had purchased land near where Greenwich Street is today. As the story goes, Mr. Morris named the town as he gazed from his land to Pequest and Delaware Rivers as "Surely this is a place from which one gets a beautiful view so its name must be Belvidere."
