Description

97 Autumn Cove Road . . . a new way of looking at life . . .

This is not your typical cookie-cutter "subdivision" home.  This is a classic.  Set back off the road in a pristine and private environment, surrounded by the sounds of nature, this huge home provides a true sanctuary, without being too rustic . . . and with all the benefits of quality traditional construction.

Inside, warmth emanates from burnished hardwood floors that grace the foyer and bring life to the vast living room with its soaring cathedral ceiling and sturdy, brick-wrapped masonry fireplace.  The cozy ambience suggests a less hurried lifestyle -- one in which a crackling fire or summer breeze rustling through open windows is as enjoyable an entertainment as any flat-screen TV could ever be.

The kitchen is no less a tribute to the notion of "home" and the promise of friendly gatherings.  With long reaches of granite countertops, endless custom cabinetry, a full pantry, and wide open work space over durable tile flooring -- not to mention abundant lighting -- it is a cook's dream.  New stainless appliances add a touch of class and modern functionality to the labors of love which are likely to take place here -- the rewards of which labors can be savored from a sun-drenched breakfast nook.  A spot that over the years is sure to have experienced the rich aromas of many a morning pot of coffee, freshly baked loaf of bread, or Sunday roast in the oven . . .

When it comes to more formal gatherings and quiet dinners, a separate dining room provides space for entertaining in style -- removed from the flow of traffic, yet still easily accesible from the kitchen or directly from the back deck -- in a tranquil setting overlooking the woods.

A perfect spot for setting up a small "work" (play?) area, is the roomy loft that overlooks the living room. Whether set up as a home office, art studio, sewing room, or any other number of uses, the amber glow of the afternoon sun makes this retreat an ideal place in which to spend afternoons at home . . .or quiet evenings alone, interrupted only by soft music playing on the house-wide intercom system.

The same distinctive quality of construction and upgraded finishes continue into the large, main-level master bedroom, which offers a fully-updated and elegant master bathroom, designed for pampering . . . double-vanitynew jetted tub / shower, linen closet, and custom tile floors.

The additional two main-level bedrooms are likewise spacious, and each with its own convenient half-bathroom and adjoining bathtub/shower room.

Downstairs, the main level master bedroom is closely mirrored by a matching guest, or "in-law" suite, which offers a large bedroom (with exterior door), walk-in closet, and full adjoining bathroom.  But, more than just a spacious place to bathe and sleep, the terrace level further accomodates with a huge living area and kitchenette (stovetop, sink, dishwasher and built in microwave).  Ideal as a separate apartment, with interior / exterior access, or, an excellent setup for use as a huge media room, recreation / exercise room, or other bonus living area to share with friends and family.

Making the downstairs living space even more convenient and functional, is a downstairs drive-under garage and workshop area (in addition to the main level two-car garage and storage area!).  With its plentiful storage and shelving available, the basement is perfect for organizing and storing life's little material "excesses" . . . and allowing some elbow-room for the treasured hobbies of the "handy-person" whose activities may not always meet with approval on the main level!

All this spacious and elegant qaulity of life is uniquely positioned in a private country setting . . . just minutes from Jasper!  Five-and-a-half wooded acres wrap the home in a buffer of quiet, in which bird song and insect hum are likely to be the days most notable sounds.  A cul-de-sac lot on a short side street, "passing traffic" is not even a likelihood . . . yet neighbors are not far away if needed.

A comfortable balance of the best of urban living, combined with the benefits of rural living . . . right down to the impeccable landscaping of the front yard that adds just the right touch of order and neatness within the woodsy surrounding (not to mention a vibrant and aromatic splash of color from plants flowering in the spring and summer).  Not only is the level and grassy back yard adequate for outdoor activities, a shaded and private picnic spot -- complete with swing seat, concrete table and benches, and built-in gas grill -- begs to be used  . . . even for the least "outdoorsy" person.

This huge one-owner home and yard truly has everything to offer . . . from solid construction, contemporary upgrades, and years of caring maintenance, to plentiful space, privacy, and the "personality" that makes a house a home.  It is a retreat from the bustle of daily living.  A place to plant flowers and prune shrubs.  To prepare large meals for family gathered together . . . or to fix a light snack for sharing with a friend on the breezy back deck.  For every age, and every stage, this home has the potential to make dreams come true . . .

Don't miss out.

Neigborhood Info

97 Autumn Cove Road is part of the Hickory Cove subdivision, which is one of Jasper GA's older neighborhoods, located off of Cove Road, approximately 3-miles from town.

All homes are situated on large "estate" lots of a 3-acres or more, providing a level of privacy to homes within the neighborhood and allowing some "elbow room".  Although there are no amenities such as swim/tennis or sidewalks, a five-acre lake for community use is one of the benefits offered to residents within Hickory Cove.

Originally bound by a set of (not very restrictive) covenants and restrictions, it is possible that Hickory Cove's CCR's have since expired and not been renewed, giving homeowners even greater liberty to choose how they wish to use their property.  An annual HOA of approximately $150 is still paid by many residents on a voluntary basis for the upkeep of common areas (such as the lake).

Originally all homes were served by well water and septic tanks for sewer, some areas to the rear of the development experienced water shortages during the recent drought (2007), and as a result the Pickens County government has since run public water lines in the community to help resolve this issue.

Despite it's age, the neighborhood still has not reached full development capacity, and aside from the occassional homes for sale, there are at times land lots available for sale as well.
