Life is Just Easier at La Casa Tranquila

As you walk through the private courtyard with a fireplace, you just know that La Casa Tranquila is different. As you walk through the front door you will be engulfed by the great room.  The ceilings are 22’ tall with exposed timber beams, like a great hall in an Old Italian home. With the exception of the bedrooms the entire main floor features wide plank hardwoods (5” planks).

The granite is from Brazil and is called Betularie and was done as a “stacked” edge which is 6 cm thick. Betularie is a Level 5 granite which is the highest level of granite you can purchase (on a 1-5 scale).  The island has a secondary sink which is ideal for food prep. Cooking is done on a Wolf 48” Pro Range with 4 burners and a double griddle.  Above the range there is a custom painting done by a local artist, Robert Castillo. You might be wondering where the refrigerator is – hiding behind the cabinets is a double Sub Zero refrigerator with 4 freezer drawers. The kitchen also features a dining area large enough for a table and 6 chairs.

The main floor master bedroom is pure Zen, a room designed to relax and refresh yourself for the busy day ahead.  There is a sitting area below three arched windows with plenty of room for two chairs and a side table. The door adjacent to the sitting area gives you quick access to the outdoor patio – but more about that later. Opposite the bed is a dramatic wide contemporary fireplace. What sets this fireplace apart is the strong, impressive fire that appears like magic through a fire-bed of spa stones. Look above at the tray ceiling with lighting to set the mood - the wallpaper was imported from Paris.

Just when you were thinking this home couldn’t get any better, you walk into the master bath. Surely you have seen some unbelievable bathrooms in your time, but this one may just set the gold standard. His & hers cabinets/sinks flank one of the most relaxing bath tubs one can buy. This is the extra deep Jetta Captiva Whirlpool with the “ultimate total back massage” jet configuration. The glass windows above the jet tub are unique - they are lead glass and come from Scotland. Maybe you are more of a steam shower type of person - just imagine starting your day with an invigorating steam in the 5’ x 7’ steam shower. No master bedroom would be complete without an elegant walk-in closet to organize your wardrobe. This well thought out closet has ample space for clothing, shoes, jewelry drawers - and more shoes! It even has a built in ironing board.           

If you like to entertain, this is the home you’ve been looking for. La Casa Tranquila was built for entertaining. You will be able to host dinner parties with ease in the formal dining room. This opulent room has as tray ceiling with mood lighting and a custom arched inset perfect for a large buffet cabinet. This room could easily accommodate 10-12 dinner guests. Adjacent to the dining room is the butler pantry with a beverage center refrigerator.

La Casa Tranquila is truly a Ranch floor plan but also has a 417 sq. ft. “sky room.” The stairs leading up near the entry go to a sitting area and private office space. The office comes with a u-shaped built in desk. There are two additional bedrooms on the main floor. The first bedroom is currently being used as a massage room. This room has hardwood floors as well as built in cabinets, countertop, a sink, and a 30” warming drawer. The second bedroom is currently used as a guest bedroom and is carpeted. It also has a well-appointed on-suite bathroom with a shower.

The main floor of this home could satisfy most of your living needs, but it keeps going. The full basement is where the fun really begins. The basement is mostly an open room with lots of room for games or entertainment. The crown jewel of the basement is the large wet bar with room for 4 bar stools. The bar is well appointed with lots of cabinets and counter space. There are two levels of glass shelving to display your “top-shelf” selection. For your convenience, the bar comes equipped with a full size dishwasher and a beverage center refrigerator. To the right of the bar you can’t miss the wine cellar. The theater comes pre-wired for speakers and a projector so you can watch your favorite film with family and friends. With stadium seating the movie theater can seat your guests comfortably and everyone will have a perfect view of the movie screen. Movie night anyone? The basement also has plenty of finished storage space.

And finally, we have the magnificent outdoor living spaces. The interior of this home really shines, but it’s the outdoor living spaces that make this property unique. Just wait until you see the panoramic views from the huge patio. To the North you see the slopes of Green Mountain just melting into Solterra. Look to the West and you might just have the best view of the mountains and Red Rocks of any home in Solterra. You can actually see the amphitheater, and in the morning light the landscape is especially stunning. The large paver patio gives you many options for arranging outdoor furniture to soak in those breathtaking views. Below the seating area is an outdoor fireplace, which is perfect for a romantic evening with a loved one. Flanking the fireplace on both sides are fountains that disappear into the rocks below. Having a fire pit is just so much fun – kids love roasting marshmallows and making S’mores over the open flames. Where will people gather outside when you entertain? They certainly have a lot of options.

And lastly, as you enter the front of the home you will do so through a private courtyard with a custom elegant gate. There is another outdoor fireplace and a pergola over top, which is perfect for outdoor “Italian” style lighting. The front courtyard is wonderful for entertaining and gives the home a unique feel as you walk towards the Knotty Alder front door true arch top with speakeasy and grill.  This is a great place to arrange tables with wine or beverages as guests enter your home for an event.

La Casa Tranquila has two separate garages, one is a 2 car garage and the other is a single car garage. The main garage has a sillcock which dispenses both hot and cold water. Both garages allow for plenty of storage in addition to the car spaces.
