Fox Ridge Drive is set on the Bridgewater side of New Milford. It is a lovely cul de sac of like homes, peaceful and quiet. A quick trip to downtown takes about 10 minutes, and for commuting you can be to I84 in either Danbury or Southbury in just about 20 minutes. But home is in one of the most beautiful sections of Connecticut countryside you will find around.

Gaylordsville, CT 06755, is actually part of New Milford, and was founded in 1725 by Mr. Gaylord, a surveyor who understood immediately what he saw in front of him. He quickly bought up parcels of what is now known as Gaylordsville, CT. Gaylordsville, CT has its own U.S. Post office and zip code, the local Gaylordsville Volunteer Fire Department is a treasure, there is the Gaylordsville Country Store where the locals meet and greet and solve all the problems of the world. Steeped in local history, and wrapped in Litchfield County eye candy, Gaylordsville, CT is a truly wonderful place to call home.

Northville, New Milford, CT is a wonderful area in the north eastern side of town. Here you can find some well established subdivisions, old farms, great restaurants and beautiful antique homes nestled in the shadow of Bear Hill. The Northville Market is a favorite food market for so many with its wonderful deli section and unique and wonderful food selection. I love to stop in and pick up a quick dinner for my family there, each of us can have exactly what we like with no fuss no muss.

Rumor has it that originally Bear Hill was originally called Bare Hill due to the charcoal making that went on there. The hillsides suffered from slash and burn syndrome, as much of Connecticut did. Now that is a distant memory. Homes are nestled in the woods and hillsides, making for a wonderful rural woodland setting.

Merryall, New Milford, Connecticut. The section of New Milford known as Merryall is set in the beautiful hills of Litchfield County in the northern part of New Milford between Kent and New Preston. It has long been an extremely popular section of town. The homes are nestled in a highly wooded area, with homes, large estates and farms spotting the countryside.

For those people looking for a luxury second home, there are wonderful antiques set on larger tracts of land in the Merryall section of New Milford, CT. A mere 20 minutes from the Metro North train station in Windgale, New York, and close to Route 22 in New York, it is a 90 minute drive to downtown Manhattan. Beautiful estates ranging in the 1 - 2 million dollar plus price range, privacy, convenience, wonderful setting make this a favored location.

The Merryall section of New Milford was given its name by a group of men who were surveying the area between 1776 and 1731, it is not quite clear. However what is clear is that they were dining by a spring, shared a bottle of spirits, and named the area "Merryall" as they were Merry all! A book titled "History of the towns of New Milford and Bridgewater, Connecticut, 1703- 1882 by Samuel Orcutt is a good read, I find myself fascinated by the early residents of New Milford Township.

Candlewood Lake offers so much for the homeowner who is lucky enough to live in one of our many water communities here in New Milford, CT.  There are a wide variety of lake communities to choose from, something for everyone, for every taste and budget. From expensive estate homes to modest first time home buyers, there is surely something to please everyone in a Candlewood Lake Community home!

Some are lucky enough to have lake frontage with private docks, with private beaches, with great views. Others have access to private beaches, some communities have docks available for residents. Truly a wide variety to pick from.

Boating, fishing, swimming or just quite enjoyment of the beautiful views, Candlewood Lake  is truly a gem in New Milford, CT.

From the moment you enter 31 Fox Ridge Drive in New Milford, you know you are home. A welcoming retreat after a long day, natural lighting flows in through every window, framing the beautiful Connecticut countryside.

The foyer is a comfortable place to welcome guests. The ceiling soars the height of the house, the hardwood floors gleaming. To the left is the dining room, perfect for large gatherings or an intimate family meal. To the right is the formal living room, set far enough away from the family room to allow privacy, yet close enough to know what is going on! At the end of the living room is a set of French doors leading to a spacious home office, library or den. The kitchen is in the back of the house, and is open to the family room. The type of kitchen built for a cook, cabinets and counter space abound. There are double ovens, all stainless appliances and room for a kitchen table. Spill out onto the deck overlooking the beautiful back yard for hours of enjoyment.

The laundry area and mud room are off the kitchen, with a door leading out to the deck also. And there is a half bath on the first floor.

The master bedroom is beautiful with a high tray ceiling, room enough for a grand bed and a seating area. And you certainly won't complain about closet space, there are 2 walk in closets in the master suite just before you enter to the master bathroom. And what a spa is it. A tub, perfect for soaking and relaxing sits under the double windows, picture the candles burning and you letting all your cares melt away. There is a separate shower that has been updated with new tiles and a glass door.

The front bedroom has a soaring ceiling with beautiful architectural lines. The palladian window lets the light in, framing the views outside. Is it a spacious room too. The next bedroom is of good size and overlooks the back yard. Your choice of where the fourth bedroom is! The large room at the end of the hall could be a bedroom, but there is another surprise here. This leads to another room which is currently used for a nursery. The choice is yours!

There is a large bathroom upstairs for the 3 bedrooms with double sinks. The tub/shower is separate from the sinks, so no fighting here!

If you require more room, the lower level is ready to be finished. I don't know if you will need the space though. It has a walk out to the back yard. The stone walls are so typical New England, and your back yard has them. The yard is fairly level, perfect for playing, planting, or just enjoying the view. The gardens are tastefully planted for you.

Fox Ridge is a quiet subdivision in New Milford, bordering Bridgewater. There are many walking trails in the woods, or just walk on the road. It is a quiet cul de sac with similar homes lining the street.  Beautiful in all 4 seasons, you will enjoy living here.
